The architects: ‘Moving their home to the outer limits of a small town in the province of Zaragoza is the wish of a newly married couple about to retire. ‘
The Spanish architectural office ‘Langarita-Navarro‘, based in Madrid, combined the previous comforts of the couple living in a social housing with their wish for more space and intimacy. Briefly worded a vertical, two storeys high cube with an open groundplan surrounded by a lot greenery had been created.
The experiences the couple have made in an conventional urban flat regarding its inner organization, had been implemented into the ‘double house’ with its ‘light-hearted and active life’ which is linked to the outdoors. The second layer of the building with its fancy shapes allows to exit from every room.
We are drawn to the unconventional way the architects designed this house.
