AABBC EXHIBITION, MUNICH – THE ‘NEW UGLY’ ?

The ‘Aabbc’-exhibition which takes place in the heart of Munich, tries to blur the boundaries between graphic design and art. A bundle of so called creatives such as artists and graphic designers from different countries including Germany, the Netherlands or France among others, are contributing to this show with their pieces of work.

An upcoming phenomena in the world of graphic design is the ‘New Ugly’-style as some people call it, but honestly, this stuff has nothing to do with the word ‘ugly’! this term refers to the graphics with typographies which seem to be placed completely out of the box, bold and contrasting colors sometimes combined with distorted images from our comic heroes.
The artworks which will be shown from tonight on until Saturday at the ‘Heitsch‘-gallery, are more than that: they play with our emotions and call up memories. Definitely worth a visit!

The exhibition is curated by Maximilian Heitsch and Noëm Held.
