The Swedish artist Martha Ossowska Persson captures conscious and unconscious touches and gestures of female hands in her huge watercolours on paper. Her realistic and quite detailed works of art focus on the encounter between the beholder and the painting itself.
Born in 1983 in Gothenburg, Sweden, she started painting quite early in her childhood and that seemed like a dream come true – she became an artist! All fragments of her life-long career match perfectly such as her passion and fascination for rocks and minerals, which could be one reason for her propensity towards being a stickler for details which are present in her latest series of paintings of hands which are done with watercolor on paper.
The list of Universities she visited reads like a book: Among others she studied architecture at the Chalmers University of Technology and art at the Dômen Art School (Gothenburg), the School of Photography (Gothenburg) and the Umeå Academy of Fine Arts for example. Her Master of fine arts she took at the Academy Valand.
We are addicted to her bold and with saturated colored painted works of art and wish to see more in future.
