The Warsaw, Poland-based visual artist Ewa Doroszenko mixed various disciplines in order to create these abstract pieces of art which plays with our perception.
During her final exam in art history, she developed an interest for Roman sculptures and ancient artistic objects. This interest can be seen in her series of photographs titled ‘The Promise of Sublime Words’ which is dedicated to historical pieces of work. Ewa’s interdisciplinary work combines images from ancient sculptures with more or less modern techniques such as mashups, digital photography and editing softwares.
Doroszenko explains her work like this: “My aim was to show my favourite statues as objects, which arouse ambiguous associations. I tried to distort the usual view of sculptures and finally destabilize a natural sense of order.”
