The designs of Montréal, Canada-based lighting design studio “Lambert et Fils”, embody modern Minimalism compared with the aesthetic of the mid-century Modernism which came from the Industrial Revolution. One of their latest collections titled “Beaubien” shows this industrial chic with less functional elements but a strong design style.
Graphic motifs are characteristic of the Canadian studio which predominantly works with bold materials and iconic archetypes.
The “Beaubien” collection entices through a game of knots and ties – between bulbs and strong black lines. The object shows some less functional ornaments or, let’s say, curves which don’t follow the function but in their entirety reveal a strong image. The light sculpture somehow works quite well in big, open rooms as a landmark – it dramatically changes the atmosphere in a positive way.
